What is Bearing ? Type of bearing and Classification of Bearing

Image
BEARING What is Bearing ? A Bearing is a machine element that constrains relative motion to only the desired motion and reduces friction between moving part.      The design of the bearing may , for example , provide for free linear movement of the moving part or for free rotation around a fixed axis ; or, it may prevent a motion by controlling the vectors of normal force that bear on the moving part T ype of bearing  There are at least 6 common type of bearing     Plain Bearing.    Jewel Bearing.   Rolling -Element Bearing.    a)  Ball Bearing.      b)  Roller Bearing.   Fluid Bearing.     Magnetic Bearing.   Flexure Bearing. 1.  Plain Bearing Plain bearing are the simplest type of bearing and are composed of just the bearing surface with no rolling elements. They have a high load - carrying capacity, are generally the least expensive and, depending on the materials, have much ...

Type Of Gears : Different Types Of Gear Explained & Advantage and Disadvantages

Image
TYPES OF GEARS Type Of Gears   Spur Gear Spur gears transmit power through shafts that are parallel. The teeth of the spur gears are parallel to the shaft axis. This causes the gears to produce radial reaction loads on the shaft, but not axial loads.  Spur gears tend to be noisier than helical gears because they operate with a single line of contact between teeth. While the teeth are rolling through mesh, they roll off of contact with one tooth and accelerate to contact with the next tooth. This is different than helical gears, which have more than one tooth in contact and transmit torque more smoothly. Helical Gear Helical gears have teeth that are oriented at an angle to the shaft, unlike spur gears which are parallel. This causes more than one tooth to be in contact during operation and helical gears can carry more load than spur gears. Due to the load sharing between teeth, this arrangement also all...

What Is Gear?- Principle of Gear & part

What Is Gear? This method are conducting power is used in a place where the space between the soft is very less, it is fitted on the top of the soft shaft, it is like an iron circular wheel and the teeth are cut on its circumference. shapes are cut parallel to each other and equally spaced. Principle of gear Gear works on the fundamental principle of thermodynamics, the law of conservation, or the first law of thermodynamics, which states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. We can say it is conservative. It can be transformed from one form to another. We know that power is the function of the shaft's torque (force in rotary motion) and speed (P = TV). Therefore, when we connect a small gear on the driving shaft and a larger gear on the driven shaft, the driven shaft speed decreases per unit rotation of the driving shaft. As we know, power is conservative, so according to this, the torque of the driven shaft increases according to the ratio of driving gear to driven ...
